Two new student books in one week! On Tuesday we previewed student work from PS 376 and today we’re excited to give you another sneak peek.
Two classes at PS 76 in Harlem participated in this program, which is a collaboration with Harlem’s Little Blackbird author Renee Watson; the students wrote about their what accomplishing their goals will look, sound, smell, taste, and feel like and made cut-paper illustrations to accompany them. We love how big these students are dreaming!
- “I dream of being a painter”
- “My dream looks like bright paint all over the paper.”
- “I want to be a President”
- “There are a lot of people in Washington D.C. They listen to me.”
- “My dream is to be an engineer because I like to build.”
- “My dream sounds like the banging of a hammer and the squeaking sound of a screw driver, screwing in a nail.”
- “My dream is to be a basketball player on the #1 team Miami Heat”
- “My dream sounds like cheering, whistles, and a basketball bouncing. My dream smells like sweat, man feet, socks and nasty breath. My dream tastes like Gatorade, water and Powerade.”
